Acupuncture is a method of releasing block channels of the body's own
internal energy (chi). |
 |
Every
living animate object (humans, animals, reptiles) has energy channels that
run throughout the body. |
 |
These
channels run along nerves and blood vessels primarily, but also weave their
way throughout the body by themselves in regular patterns. |
 |
These
channels are called MERIDIANS (like electrical circuits). |
 |
Meridians are like rivers flowing through the body to irrigate and nourish
the cells and tissues. |
 |
Any
obstruction in the flow of these energy channels is like a dam that blocks
the flow of water. |
 |
Just
as chiropractic ADJUSTMENTS remove the stress on a nerve passing through and
around the joints of the body, Acupuncture removes the stress (unblocks flow
of energy) throughout the meridians of the body. |
 |
The
desired result of acupuncture can be obtained by using: very small, fine
needles; electrical stimulation with or without needles; rapid percussion of
a specialized non-needle instrument; and/or stimulating points on the ear
(auricular therapy). |
 |
Acupuncture needles are rarely painful and most treatment sessions are very
comfortable. |
